Before Ohio BIke Week even began this year Nick's Road House Bar & Grill began hosting Bike Night every Thursday
"Motorcycling up here is popular,” owner Nick Bousliman said. The establishment's Bike Night began in late May to large crowds.
“Why do we do it, because obviously it’s summertime and we want to be a summertime gathering spot,” Bousliman said.
The venue is also upping the ante on Bike Night with a revolving door of topnotch local acts, including the legendary John Salamon, Allie Gatlin, JD Owen and Empire Drift.
“It’s just a good mix up of music and genres to attract different groups of people,” Bousliman said. “We’re a live music bar and grill. We also mix food specials up and that ranges from pig roasts to BBQ rib dinners to half pound burgers to brats.”
In addition, Nick’s Road House and Grill will be registering patrons all summer long to be in the running for a $400 Roeder Harley-Davidson leather jacket and $250 Roeder Harley-Davidson gift certificate. The event culminates on Sept.18 when 10 names will be drawn for a trivia contest with the top two winners receiving the prizes.
If you ask Bousliman, a biker night at Nick’s Road House and Grill was a no-brainer.
“We have found over the years that Port Clinton and Road House Bar & Grill are a good combination for a destination for people to come in from Sandusky, Huron, Bellevue, Norwalk and Fremont,” Bousliman said. “People from those areas love to come over the Bay Bridge into Port Clinton. It’s a little bit different scenery and they like our place.
“So it’s a nice destination to stop and have a cold beverage and a bite to eat, and a great place to meet other bikers. Thursday nights seem to be a good gathering spot.”

Editor's note: The guys in Empire Drift play music influenced by Pearl Jam, Jack Johnson, Phish, Dave Matthews, Tenacious D, The Doors and more, when they're not hanging out in the ladies' stockings department... See them June 19.
